The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties recently granted over $1 million in scholarships to 88 local students through a competitive process. The average award is over $11,000 each for students from Palm Beach and Martin counties.

"The Community Foundation is thankful to our generous donors and fundholders who make these scholarship awards possible," said Brad Hurlburt, president and CEO. "Their investment in the education of our young people has impacted each student's future."
Students are evaluated by an advisory committee of board members and community volunteers based on a formal application, academic resume, essays, and interviews.
“The process of choosing who will be awarded each of these scholarships is undertaken with dedication and discipline,” said January Reissman, Vice President for Community Impact. “The process is never easy because our student applicants are outstanding.”
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Community Foundation had a carefully constructed plan to keep the awards on schedule ensuring students and their families could make informed decisions for the upcoming school year.
The organization has awarded over $15 million in scholarship grants since 1983, and helped over 2,400 students, making it one of the largest providers of scholarships in the two counties.
The Foundation manages 100 scholarship funds established by donors who are committed to education, and often named in the memory of a loved one.
