About the Fund
Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County Building for a Lifetime fund (est. 2017)
Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County (HFHPBC) has helped hundreds of hardworking families achieve the dream of owning a decent and affordable home. Since its founding in 1986, HFHPBC have increased our ability to help even more families by offering a variety of services in addition to new home construction.
Improving communities through the preservation of existing homes has become an integral part of our mission. Major home rehabilitation, critical home repair, weatherization, and exterior cosmetic improvements are but a few of the services HFHPBC offers home owners to help preserve their home and revitalize their communities.
HFHPBC is not a hand-out, but a hand up. To qualify, all applicants must:
- Have a minimum credit score of 580
- Volunteer 400 hours of sweat equity
- Complete an eight week course on home ownership/financial responsibility
- Save for closing costs
- Assume a 30-year, no interest mortgage
As we educate our future home owners, planning for the future is paramount. That’s why we want to lead by example and plan for our future.
