Organization: Rio CIvic Club

Criteria:

Any graduating senior attending a high school in Martin County, residing in Rio and planning to attend an institution of higher learning is eligible to apply. Relatives of those serving on the Rio Civic Club Scholarship Committee are NOT eligible. Applicant must submit a completed application for scholarship. The application should be submitted in accordance with the high school’s scholarship program. Applicant must submit an essay of 250-500 words explaining: 1) Why you wish to continue your education in the field, area or specialty you are pursuing; 2) Why the scholarship would be important to your continuing education, i.e., financial, personal, family situations that you believe may impact your ability to pursue your goals; and 3) Any thoughts you may have on your experience as a young person growing up in Rio, and contributions you may have made to improving our community. Applicant must submit evidence of academic achievement as measured by GPA. Applicant’s record of community and voluntary service is considered. Recipient must attend the Jensen Beach High School Scholarship Night and agree to be photographed with the Rio Civic Club's presenter. The photograph and recipient's name will appear in the annual Rio Civic Club brochure that is distributed to the public.
