About the Fund
The mission for the Stautberg Fund for Independent Journalism is to support journalism as an essential public service that informs, engages, and empowers South Florida’s communities. Through grants for apprenticeships, training, and hands-on experience, the Fund invests in emerging reporters and strengthens local coverage of the issues shaping our region. Fostering independent, impactful storytelling helps sustain a vibrant press while expanding coverage of the issues that matter most to our region.
