Helping students in Palm Beach and Martin Counties go to college and making their dreams come true by giving to the Community Foundation Scholarship Fund.
College is on the mind of many high school seniors in Palm Beach and Martin County. This past year, 108 deserving students fulfilled their educational dreams thanks, in part, to the donors of the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties. These students are the recipients of more than $1 million in scholarships awarded by the organization.
The Community Foundation has awarded millions in scholarship grants since 1983, and helped thousands of students, making it one of the largest providers of scholarships in the two counties. Students are evaluated by an advisory committee of board members and community volunteers based on a written application, test scores, transcripts and interviews. Individual scholarships ranged in amounts from $1,000 to $60,000.
"As the cost of college continues to rise, so does the need of many students," said Brad Hurlburt, president and CEO of the Community Foundation. "It is through the generosity of our donors that these needs can be met while changing lives. Our scholarship program is a wonderful way to empower local youth and show them the impact of philanthropy. "
