The YWCA of Palm Beach County, a 501© (3) agency, has been serving women and their families throughout the county for the past 100 years. The YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. The major areas of service are pre-school education for low income children; providing educational, cultural, recreational and leadership skill building opportunities to girls in the Glades that due to economic restraints they would most likely not otherwise experience; and protecting women and their children from domestic violence.

The agency operates two child development centers in West Palm Beach and Royal Palm Beach; the Mary Rubloff YWCA Harmony House, a 72 bed shelter for battered women and their abused children; a Rapid Re-housing program for domestic violence victims that helps with a deposit and several month rent enabling the women to get re-adjusted in the community; an anti-violence educational program for school aged children; an outreach and supportive counseling and legal advocacy for victims of domestic violence; Y-Teens at Pahokee and Glades Central High Schools; Y-Girls at Pioneer Park Elementary School; and racial justice initiatives including the annual “Stand Against Racism ” Day activities.
