Community Foundation Seeks Strategic Philanthropic Leader
The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties is seeking a passionate and experienced Director for Philanthropic Services to play a pivotal role in connecting donors with impactful giving opportunities.
About the Role
As the Director for Philanthropic Services, you will be a strategic advisor, fostering strong relationships with donors and professional advisors to cultivate a thriving community of philanthropy. You will leverage your expertise to guide families and individuals in aligning their charitable goals with the Foundation’s diverse donor-advised fund options.
Key Responsibilities:
• Relationship Cultivation: Build and nurture relationships with a broad network of professionals including estate attorneys, CPAs, wealth management advisors, individual donors, and family foundations. Introduce the Community Foundation as a trusted partner in achieving their philanthropic aspirations.
• Strategic Partnership Development: Collaborate with donors and professional advisors to develop a coordinated approach to maximizing their philanthropic impact. This may involve implementing comprehensive engagement strategies and crafting tactics to grow their charitable giving portfolio.
• Stewardship and Legacy Planning: Partner with families to integrate the Foundation into their estate and legacy plans, ensuring their charitable vision endures for generations to come. Prepare compelling proposals for family meetings to effectively communicate the Foundation’s benefits.
• Community Leadership: Represent the Community Foundation at a variety of community events and professional associations, fostering a strong presence within the philanthropic sector.
• Data-Driven Growth: Contribute to the Foundation’s strategic growth by researching prospective clients, tracking donor engagement activities, and creating a business plan that aligns with the Foundation’s long-term vision.
• Collaboration: Work seamlessly with the Finance and Accounting team, Community Impact team, and other departments to ensure a cohesive and successful giving experience for donors.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least five years of successful experience in business development, fundraising, and family/donor relations.
• Proven track record of building and nurturing relationships with high-net-worth individuals and professional advisors.
• Strong understanding of donor motivations and estate and legacy planning strategies.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present information effectively to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft and Adobe products.
• A passion for philanthropy and a commitment to community betterment.
