Join us in bringing accomplished ceramic artists to Lighthouse ArtCenter to promote cultural exchange, innovation, and collaboration!
PURPOSE
The 3 Wings Visiting Artist Fund aims to provide compensation for an established ceramic artist to visit the Lighthouse ArtCenter Ceramic Studio for a two-week period. This fund is supported by an endowment from friends of the school, whose inspiring experiences with visiting artists motivated them to create similar opportunities for others.
DETAILS
Lighthouse ArtCenter will provide a $2,500 stipend to the 3 Wings Visiting Artist upon completion of their residency and workshop. During the two-week period, the artist will deliver a 30-minute lecture followed by a Q&A session, which will be free and open to the public. They will also lead a three-day workshop spanning six hours daily and spend approximately 6-8 hours each day in the studio creating personal work and engaging with classes or open studio sessions.
The artist will supply Lighthouse ArtCenter with 4-6 pieces several months before their workshop for promotional purposes and potential sale. These artworks will be subject to a 60/40 commission, with a $500 budget allocated for shipping and insurance to and from Lighthouse ArtCenter’s Gallery.
This program enriches the community by bringing acclaimed ceramic artists to Lighthouse ArtCenter, offering unique learning opportunities and cultural enrichment. The free public lecture and intensive workshop enhance participants’ skills and creativity, encouraging collaboration and inspiring local artists and art enthusiasts. Additionally, promoting and selling the artist’s work supports both the artist and the community’s engagement with high-quality art, contributing to a vibrant local art scene.
One ceramic student from Jupiter High School will also be chosen to receive a full scholarship for each 3 Wings Visiting Artist Workshop.
