About the Fund
Transform lives through the Holy Ground PBC Opportunity Fund (est. 2022)
Holy Ground PBC’s mission is to shelter and mentor homeless, pregnant and parenting young women, and their children, living in Palm Beach County who are willing to make positive changes in their lives. The need for these services is on-going, as over 500 teenagers in Palm Beach County gave birth in 2020, and only half of these teen moms will earn a high school diploma.
Established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2009, Holy Ground makes a long-term commitment to work individually with each young mom. Using an independent living model, our staff and mentors help these young women with skill-building, educational and vocational competencies, and personal growth, with the goal of enabling them to achieve economic sustainability and a stable family situation.
One of our key wraparound services is trauma-informed counseling, which aims to heal the minds, bodies and spirits of these young moms, many of whom come to us deeply scarred by prior ACEs (adverse childhood experiences). It is with the support of our caring staff, loving mentors and skilled counselors that these brave young women are able to transform their lives – and the lives of their children.
Our vision is to help break the cycle of teen pregnancy, poverty and homelessness by empowering our young moms to develop the self-confidence and self-reliance to be catalysts for lasting generational change by modeling healthy behaviors for their children.
