Lighthouse ArtCenter (LAC), located in Tequesta, FL, is a vibrant and inclusive community that celebrates the transformative power of art.

– Art Classes and Workshops for All Ages
– Curated Exhibitions
– Social and Cultural Events
– Art Outreach for Underserved Populations

Founded in 1964 by local artists as a small volunteer-led organization, LAC has grown significantly to meet the needs of its expanding membership and community interest. LAC’s vision is to achieve artistic and organizational excellence, providing high-quality educational art experiences in an inclusive, welcoming environment for all.

LAC offers art classes and workshops tailored to individuals of all ages, skill levels, and scheduling needs. Students can explore various mediums like painting (watercolor, oil, acrylics), drawing, portrait and figure instruction, textiles and mixed media, digital arts, photography, ceramics, glass fusion, sculpture, jewelry and metalsmithing, woodcarving, and more.

LAC’s art outreach initiative, Art for All, ensures access to art for everyone, including underserved populations such as Veterans, individuals with special needs, at-risk children and adolescents, seniors, and economically disadvantaged people. With a focus on community collaboration, LAC runs 16 art outreach programs in partnership with 10 local organizations. Financial need-based scholarships are available for all ages for classes, workshops, and summer art camp (ages 5-11).

Through curated exhibitions that juxtapose the brilliance of local creatives with the works of globally recognized artists, the ArtCenter aims to inspire, educate, and engage the community. LAC stands as a testament to the fusion of tradition and innovation, offering a space where traditional techniques meet cutting-edge expressions.

Through its programming and commitment to artistic excellence, LAC continues to play a vital role in promoting the arts, enriching the community, and nurturing creativity in Palm Beach and Martin County. We envision LAC as a destination where individuals find inspiration, connection, and a sense of belonging.

WHY DONATE?
Supporting the arts, especially through Lighthouse ArtCenter, enriches our community and promotes individual growth. Research shows that arts education enhances creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, which are essential in today’s innovation-driven world. Additionally, involvement in the arts improves mental health, reduces stress, and increases overall well-being. LAC, a cornerstone of our community, amplifies these benefits by providing accessible art education, dynamic exhibitions, and outreach programs that engage underserved populations. Your support helps us continue to inspire, engage, and transform lives through the power of art, creating a vibrant and inclusive community for all.
