The Armory Art Center exists to expand art’s influence in the Palm Beaches by reaching, teaching, and involving people of all ages, from every background, and at any level of talent. This mission embraces the understanding that art is vital to the realization of individual potential and one’s full participation as a productive member of society. To succeed in expanding the creation and experience of art throughout the Palm Beaches, the Armory must continuously reach out, improve, and grow.The Armory has provided high quality visual arts instruction in West Palm Beach for more than 30 years. Its historic main building hosts 300 courses annually, exhibitions, art salons, lectures, workshops, and special events. Twelve studios comprise 20,000 square feet of space that supports instruction, exploration, and artistic growth in ceramics, digital arts, drawing, glass and beadwork, jewelry making, painting, print making, fiber, and clay sculpture. Each year 12 exhibitions are held in one of three galleries and the Visiting Master Artist Workshops expose students to the best contemporary artists November to May.
Paint the Future – the Armory Art Center Endowment Fund (est. 2017)A leader in visual arts education, the Armory Art Center offers instruction and creative opportunities that include innovative and influential technologies. Every class is open to every person: the very young and our senior population, people in our communities who are underserved, and those with special needs. Unique art for healing programs are provided by the Armory for Urban Youth Impact, the Human Trafficking Coalition, and American Military Veterans.
Summer camps introduce children of all ages to the visual arts and their own creativity, imagination, and self-expression. Students are provided instruction and access to cutting-edge technologies such as 3-D printing (clay sculpture, jewelry making), digital photography, and animation software. The Paint the Future Fund supports Armory’s ongoing efforts to reach the whole of Palm Beach and Martin Counties and to influence and enhance lives through artistic endeavor.
